WEDDING
WELCOME GUIDE

Welcome to your Wedding guide!
Thank you immensely for entrusting me with the task of capturing your wedding day. Enclosed is a helpful guide I've curated to assist you in the planning process, ensuring we capture the most exquisite moments on your special day. I firmly believe that two key elements contribute to crafting stunning wedding content: a well-structured timeline allowing for natural moments to unfold, and optimal lighting arrangements tailored to your event.
Wedding photography and videography at its essence, should encapsulate unguarded, natural, intimate, and emotional moments. These are the moments I eagerly anticipate capturing. The more insights I gain about you as a couple, your familial relationships, and the significance behind your chosen celebration, the richer the canvas I'll have to create images that authentically mirror your personalities.
The Process
Booking
We hope to have the opportunity to speak or meet in person before finalizing your booking. However, if that isn't possible, we're happy to schedule a time to connect, get to know each other better, and discuss your overall vision for your wedding day. In the meantime, we will send over a questionnaire for you to complete at your convenience—please feel free to answer only the questions you're able to at this stage, as we understand that not all details may be finalized yet. Additionally, we will include the retainer to officially secure your date. If you have any questions at any point, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
1 Month Out
At this time, we will reach out to you regarding the questionnaire to ask completion of any unanswered questions and provide an opportunity to revise your responses, if necessary we will contact you to review the details. Additionally, we will send you the invoice for the final payment.
Week of
I will review the questionnaire one final time and check with you regarding any last-minute changes. If we haven't received the wedding schedule yet, I will also ask for that. Once everything is confirmed, our team will create the final plan to ensure we capture your special day perfectly. Additionally, if you have any final questions for us, please feel free to ask before then.
Day Of
The day has come! Throughout the time you hired us we will be right there with you, keeping track of your schedule throughout the day and capturing all the amazing moments as they unfold. Every laugh, every tear, every special detail — nothing will be missed. I'm here to tell the story of your day, so you can focus on being present and enjoying every second. It’s going to be an unforgettable celebration, and I can’t wait to be a part of it!
Previews
After your wedding day, we typically provide 15-20 edited previews of photos throughout the wedding day. This allows you to have images ready to share on social media and with your family. We encourage you to give us your feedback on the editing style—whether you love the current edits or would prefer adjustments on the color style, lighting, or other aspects. This ensures that we can apply your preferences consistently throughout the final gallery.
Final Gallery
We will have the final gallery ready for you in approximately 90 days. At that time, you will receive access to an online gallery where you can view and download high-resolution photographs.
Building The Ideal Timeline
Organizing a timeline for your wedding day can assist with planning and help ensure everything runs smoothly, capturing beautiful moments along the way. Here are some important “events” to keep in mind.
Getting Ready : Groom Prep/Flatlays : Approx 30 Minutes.
We typically start by capturing the groom’s preparations, as the bridal party often takes a bit longer to get ready. However, we understand that some grooms may prefer not to be photographed at this stage, whether due to location preferences or personal comfort. Please feel free to let us know what works best for you.
Also per request we can also capture all flat lay details during this time. To make this process smooth, please have any small personal items you’d like included—such as rings, heirlooms, wedding invitations, flowers, or other meaningful pieces—set aside and ready for us.
Getting Ready : Bride Prep : Approx 1.5 Hours To 2 Hours
I like arriving at the bride’s prep location just as she’s finishing her hair and makeup. It’s the perfect time to capture those last, stunning touches. Once she’s ready, we’ll capture the bride’s completed look, intimate moments like the mother or maid of honor buttoning up the dress, and the bridal party’s heartwarming reactions to seeing her in her dress for the first time—along with all the special moments that unfold in those precious morning moments.
The Ceremony : Approx 15 Minutes to 1.5 Hours
The length of a ceremony can vary: a short and sweet one might last around 15 minutes, while a church ceremony may extend to 30-45 minutes. Whichever you choose, plan on an additional 30 minutes afterward to greet guests—unless you’re opting for a quick exit!
Family & Wedding Party Portraits : 15 Minutes To 30 Minutes
The time needed for family and wedding party portraits can vary significantly based on group size and the number of combinations. I suggest limiting different group arrangements to 10 or fewer—going beyond this can encroach on cocktail hour or reduce the time for couple portraits. Another option is to complete all formal photos before the ceremony.
Couple Portraits : 30 Minutes To 1 Hour
The timing of your portrait session will depend on the number of locations you'd like to visit, with about 10 minutes per location being ideal. It's important to consider how much time you're comfortable spending away from your guests—some couples choose to minimize personal portraits to maximize their time with friends and family during the cocktail hour after the ceremony. We recommend scheduling couple portraits prior to the ceremony so you can fully enjoy the cocktail hour alongside your guests.
The Reception : 2 To 6 Hours
Each wedding reception is a unique expression of what truly matters to you. From the first dance to the cake cutting and the joyful moments shared with loved ones, every detail shapes your celebration. During this special time, we focus on stepping back to capture every candid, heartfelt moment, as well as the lighthearted, fun interactions that make your day unforgettable. We also suggest including speeches, as they add memorable moments and provide excellent audio for your wedding video, should you choose to hire us for videography.
The Exit: Approx 10 Minutes
From bubble exits to sparklers, paper airplanes, confetti poppers, balloons, and even lightsaber send-offs, we cherish all the creative ways to celebrate your wedding finale! Take a moment to brainstorm the most imaginative exit you can envision to make your grande finale unforgettable. We can’t wait to see the fantastic ideas you come up with!

Let’s Dive Into Portraits
THE FIRST LOOK
If you haven’t heard of a ‘first look’ before, it’s a special moment where I help coordinate the setup, ensuring your fiancé doesn’t see you until the perfect moment. Once they turn around and take in the sight of you all dressed up, I capture their raw and beautiful reaction.
For Weddings, I often recommend doing a first look before the ceremony. This gives you both an intimate moment together, so afterward, you can fully enjoy celebrating with your closest family and friends.
If you prefer to have your first look as you walk down the aisle, that’s absolutely possible! Just keep in mind that all bridal and family portraits will need to be done after the ceremony.
Be mindful of the sunset time! For example, if your ceremony is at 5 PM and the sun sets at 6 PM (which happens in late fall or winter), I highly recommend a first look. Running out of natural light before finishing your portraits can be a big challenge, as we’d have to move indoors and rely on flash or lights—something that often doesn’t create the most visually appealing results.
COUPLE PORTRAITS
If you're planning a first look, I count that as part of your couple's footage since right after, I like to capture a few shots while you’re still riding the high of the moment. It’s always a great time. I usually set aside about 10-15 minutes for this, then another 20 minutes for Golden Hour. That’s when I pull you both away from the reception for a quick breather, let you soak it all in, and chase that epic PNW light. The results? Bold, cinematic portraits with that perfect golden-hour glow.
For your wedding, we can start with first look photos or video, get some solid bridal portraits, and if we’re still shooting as the sun sets, we can break away for a few more golden hour shots to lock in that moody, dramatic lighting.
Side Note: When we’re your videographers, the photographers typically take the lead on this.
WEDDING PARTY
The amount of time needed for wedding party photos depends on the size of your group, but I generally recommend setting aside 20-30 minutes. If little ones, like ring bearers or flower girls, are involved, we may need extra time since kids can be unpredictable. This allows us to organize everyone smoothly while also capturing some fun and creative group shots.
If you’re not doing a first look, we’ll take separate photos of each side before the ceremony and bring everyone together for full wedding party portraits afterward.
DETAILS
When considering which details you’d like photographed or filmed, I highly recommend gathering all your wedding accessories in a bag or designated storage box. This way, they’re ready for me as soon as I arrive to start capturing photos or video of your special moments.
If you’d like detailed shots or video clips of your wedding rings, grandma’s vintage brooch, veil, shoes, or any other sentimental items, please have them set aside and ready to go.
One of my favorite things to do is style your accessories creatively. I arrange your wedding jewelry, shoes, bouquet, dress, and more to create beautifully curated images or video footage that reflect your wedding style.
Also, if you’d like your wedding stationery included, be sure to have it on hand so I can photograph or film it as part of your wedding story!
Family Portraits
Here’s a suggested list of family photo combinations to consider for your portraits. I typically recommend limiting the number of small combinations to 15 or fewer. However, since every family is unique and may require different groupings, just provide me with a list of the important ones, and I'll ensure we capture them. Plan for about 2 minutes per combination—so if you want to keep this part of the day to 20 minutes, aim for a maximum of 10 groupings.
Before the wedding, it's a good idea to ask family members about the portraits that matter most to them. Also, if there are any unique family dynamics we should be aware of, please inform me in the questionnaire as it is one of the questions. This helps ensure a smooth and stress-free portrait session. On the right is a list of the most common combinations.
Side Note: When we’re your videographers, the photographers typically take the lead on this.

CHOOSING LOCATIONS
Begin by choosing your preferred backdrop: would you like a natural setting with trees and water, or an urban landscape featuring buildings and streets? Consider what’s most practical based on your wedding's location. If there’s travel involved between the ceremony and reception, think about nearby attractions you might enjoy along the way to minimize travel time.
If your ceremony and reception are held at the same venue, we can take full advantage of the surroundings. Share what you love about that specific location, whether it’s the scenic beauty or the architectural details, and we can build from there.
If your chosen location is far from the reception site, you might want to consider scheduling your portraits before the ceremony. This way, you can head straight to cocktail hour with your guests once the ceremony concludes.
Choosing the Perfect Getting Ready Location
If you're planning to get ready somewhere other than your home or wedding venue, we highly recommend opting for an Airbnb or VRBO rental instead of a hotel room.
Hotel rooms are often smaller, darker, and less accommodating, while renting an entire home provides a more spacious, relaxed atmosphere. With more room to spread out and multiple areas to choose from for photos, a private home offers plenty of character and charm, unlike the generic feel of most hotel rooms.
The natural light in a home is also a game-changer—it allows me to capture stunning, high-quality images that are beautifully lit and full of personality. Light and atmosphere are key to creating memorable photographs, and a thoughtfully chosen space can make all the difference!
GOLDEN HOUR
The quality of light is the key factor in creating stunning photographs. My absolute favorite time to shoot is during the last hour before sunset, often referred to as “the golden hour.” During this time, the light is warm and soft, making everything look incredible. I would take just 15 minutes of this beautiful golden light over an hour in the harsh brightness of midday. However, if we find ourselves in that situation, I'll do my best to keep you out of the sun.
Conversely, on cloudy days, lighting is usually the best. Clouds function like large softboxes, diffusing sunlight and minimizing harsh shadows, resulting in everyone looking fantastic.
IF IT RAINS
Don’t forget to bring umbrellas and weather-appropriate footwear! If possible we will also bring a photogenic umbrella for you to use. We’re still going to capture some amazing shots, so there’s no need to worry. In fact, rainy conditions often lead to some of the most cherished photos!
ADDITIONAL TIPS & IDEAS
Kindly request that anyone reading or speaking, including the officiant, use printed paper, glass or any physical vows instead of a phone or iPad. The glow from a screen can cast an unflattering light, and there's something far more romantic about holding your vows on paper rather than glancing at a phone while declaring your love.
Consider making your ceremony phone-free. This way, you’ll have beautiful photos and videos capturing the genuine, joyful expressions of your family and friends, fully present and engaged in the moment—without the distraction of glowing screens.
For the ceremony, it's common to reserve the first one or two rows for family members. However, this often leads to an excess of empty seats, with noticeable gaps in the front (especially in the second and third rows) because guests are hesitant to sit too close. My recommendation is to assign each seat to a specific guest by name. This way, you can ensure the front rows are fully occupied, resulting in photos that showcase a well-filled ceremony without empty rows at the front.

Preserving Your Memories in Print
There’s something truly magical about holding a photograph in your hands. It creates a tangible connection to a moment in time, a place, and a feeling—something a digital screen can never fully replicate.
While digital files are convenient and undeniably valuable, printed photos and custom albums transform your memories into timeless heirlooms. These tangible keepsakes become treasures you’ll pass down for generations, offering a lasting connection to your wedding day that you and your loved ones will cherish forever.
Your photographs will be delivered through an online gallery, where you’ll also find a selection of beautifully curated products designed to preserve and celebrate your memories.
Custom-Designed Fine Art Albums
Showcase the story of your wedding day with a stunning fine art album. These custom-designed books, available in 10x10” or 9x12” sizes, feature approximately 150 carefully selected images spread across 50 elegant pages. Crafted with unmatched quality, each album is printed on thick, archival matte paper and bound in your choice of premium materials.
Your photos will also be delivered in an online gallery, where you’ll find a selection of beautifully curated products to complement your album.
Photographic Prints
Alongside our fine art albums, we provide a wide selection of photographic prints and framed prints. These beautiful additions complement your wedding package perfectly and make thoughtful gifts for parents and loved ones.
Engagement Session Guide
If you're considering an engagement session with me, this section is just for you! I’ve put together a list of frequently asked questions to help you know exactly what to expect and how to prepare for your session.
WHAT TO EXPECT
I’m all about making sure you have an unforgettable experience, so trust me when I say we’re going on an adventure. I don’t believe in stiff, unnatural poses that make you feel like a mannequin. My goal is to keep things relaxed and comfortable so I can capture the real you—your personality, your love, your bond—not just the latest trends. You’re unique, and it’s my job to capture that in a way that turns into lasting memories for you to cherish.
WHERE TO GO
Let’s pick a spot in Florida that holds meaning for both of you. Whether you’re into the city vibe with a chill coffee shop or your favorite bar, we can make that happen. If you’re more about the outdoors—whether it’s a scenic forest, a dreamy beach adventure, or one of Florida’s stunning parks or lakes—I’m all in. The goal is to find a place that truly represents who you are and brings out your best—your love and your true selves.
I’ll take care of scouting the locations, making sure we’ve got solid options lined up, so everything’s organized and runs smoothly. And if you’re up for it, I’d be down to grab a bite afterwards, getting to know each other even better.
WHAT TO WEAR
I highly recommend bringing two outfits: one dressy and one more casual, or two that match your style—whatever works for you.
Just keep in mind the importance of avoiding clashing patterns. For example, if you’re thinking of wearing a patterned shirt, it’s best for your partner to avoid something like plaid, as it can clash and be tough on the eyes. If one of you goes with a pattern, having the other wear something solid helps keep the look balanced and visually clean.
WHO WILL BE THERE
For engagement sessions, it’s typically the four of us, two from our team, and you two. We use this time not only to capture beautiful moments but also to get to know you as a couple and build a genuine connection with you both.
WHEN WE SHOULD GO
The best time for your session depends on the season, but we can plan it year-round in Florida—weather permitting! If you have your heart set on a national park, state park, or any popular Florida spot like a beach, lake, bar, or scenic overlook, I highly recommend scheduling on a weekday or a Friday afternoon to avoid the crowds and create a more intimate experience.

Wedding Day FAQs
Getting Ready Photos
Q: When do you start capturing getting ready shots?
A: I usually begin capturing the getting ready process toward the end when you’re nearly finished. Most people prefer not to be captured halfway through their makeup or hair, so I wait until the final moments to capture the best shots. However, I still take a few photo/clips throughout the process to document the full experience.
Q: What if the groomsmen are getting ready in a different location?
A: This happens often! If they’re close by, I may run between both locations to capture moments from both sides. However, if they’re too far away, we can stage ‘getting ready’ shots during the groomsmen portraits. For example, I can have them adjust their ties, the best man can fix the groom’s boutonniere or cufflinks—simple touches that still create the look of getting ready. Or, since you have both of us, we may split up to capture both groups simultaneously.
Weather & Send-Offs
Q: What if it rains on our wedding day?
A: No worries—I’ve got you covered! I bring my photogenic umbrella (as seen in picture) for cute rainy-day portraits and protective rain gear for my cameras, so nothing gets damaged. Be sure to check in with your wedding planner for any necessary adjustments to your schedule or setup.
Q: What’s the best send-off idea?
A: Anything with light! Sparklers are a classic favorite, but some venues don’t allow fireworks or non-biodegradable items, so check with your venue first. Some fun alternatives include:
Smoke bombs – Super cool and dramatic, but they don’t last long.
Bubbles – A fun option that works best in daylight but looks magical at night too.
Streamers or lavender tosses – Smell amazing and look beautiful!
Greenery send-offs – Guests can toss eucalyptus, pine, rose petals, or other organic materials for a natural and eco-friendly exit.
Paper Airplanes – A unique and whimsical exit! They create a fun and memorable moment, but keep in mind they’re lightweight and may not travel far, especially on a windy day. (as shown in picture)
Photo Details & Timing
Q: What makes the best flat lay photos?
A: A mix of sentimental and decorative details! Consider including:
Rings
Invitations or vow booklets
Matching flowers from your bouquet
Meaningful keepsakes (watch, necklace, heirlooms)
Elegant wedding shoes
Any special small wedding gifts
Q: How long do family portraits take?
A: Typically 30-40 minutes if everyone is present and ready. Sometimes family members run late or aren’t sure where to go, so I recommend designating one or two people (one from each side of the family) who know everyone to help gather them for portraits efficiently.
Reception Photography Tips
Q: Anything we should keep in mind for reception photos?
A: Lighting is key! Be mindful of where you’re positioned for important moments like cake cutting or speeches. Avoid standing with your back to a bright window, as it can cause backlighting and make you appear darker in photos. If possible:
Keep harsh fluorescent lights off.
Use natural light—open windows and avoid heavy curtains.
Face toward windows to get that soft, even, and glowing light.
Once again, I can't even begin to tell you how EXCITED I am for your wedding day!
I just want to take a moment to say a huge thank you for trusting me to be your wedding photographer or videographer! I’m seriously pumped for you both and can’t wait to get to know you better as we dive into this season of engagement together.
There’s a lot that goes into planning a wedding, and my goal is to make the photo or video side of things as smooth and stress-free as possible. Hopefully, this guide helps bring your vision to life.
